Compass Corp. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Fumito Sasaki) is pleased to announce that the merger (hereinafter referred to as the 'merger') with KNOT WORLD Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Fumito Sasaki) was completed on August 1, 2023.
Compass Corp. was founded by Midas Capital in December 2022 with the aim of becoming a leading company in Japan's tourism and inbound sector, and in the same month acquired a kimono rental business from Wagokoro Co.,Ltd. As measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 have eased up, the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan is rapidly increasing, and it is expected that the market as a whole will continue to grow.
Under these circumstances, and to achieve greater growth in the tourism and inbound sector, the merger was conducted with the objectives of diversifying services, expanding managerial resources, and strengthening competitiveness in hiring.
Through this merger, Compass Corp. will expand its business to include not only kimono rental but also travel services(optional tours), area production, media services, and guide community services.
Furthermore, Compass Corp. plans to merge with AirTripStay in October, a company engaged in accommodation management. In pursuit of our mission and vision to lead tourism in Japan and pass on the culture to the next generation, we will continue to actively utilize mergers and acquisitions to expand our business.
In conjunction with the merger, we have relocated to a new office to further accelerate the pace of growth of our business and promote expansion. With the merger and headquarters relocation, all of our employees are even more motivated to excel in their respective roles and duties, aiming for the further growth of each business.
